As a real estate professional and licensed realtor, I'm currently being contracted by the brokerage of Coldwell Banker Schmidt to help home buyers and sellers here in Harbor Springs.
I also provide service to small local retail, office space, and other commercial real estate through Apple Pie Properties in Petoskey, which I own and manage alongside my wife.

My History Rooted in Harbor Springs
I grew up in Detroit (yes, in the actual city) and had a very humble but happy upbringing in a close-knit neighborhood.
I was fortunate to have two very hard-working parents who recognized the value of getting away and bringing their kids 'Up North' whenever they could.
Back in the '70s, I couldn't wait for the ski trips our family would take to The Highlands. Seeing the tall white pines for the first time, with all the snow and the clear skies, was like a dream.
Even when I fell off the cannon in Harbor Springs and hit my head (might explain a lot!), times were always good in Northern Michigan.
Entrepreneurial Life Changes
I started my first tech company in the mid-90's shortly before graduating from Wayne State. It was a struggle.
I worked non-stop through thick and thin to eventually build some pretty compelling products and leading online services. The advent of the Internet age definitely was an exciting time.
In 2010, just after my honeymoon in the North Channel, I completed a sale of two of my companies to Salesforce (NYSE: CRM). And within three months, we relocated from downstate to a home in Petoskey.
We'll always remember driving up with all our belongings and arriving in the middle of a December snowstorm. What a welcome!
Life in Northern Michigan
My family has owned a great condo in Harbor Springs since the '90s, but it took me and my wife a few years after moving to Northern Michigan before we could find our perfect spot in Harbor, too.
And it wasn't long afterward that our dream of designing and building our own home became a reality. It wasn't easy, but the payoff has been incredible. We were finally able to call Harbor Springs our home.
To this day, every time I look out over the bay or drive by those tall pines along 119, I think to myself: Who would have thought that one day I'd be living here!
Today, we enjoy everything that Northern Michigan has to offer. I keep busy with real estate, and I actively advise and educate clients about technology. My beautiful wife, Kelly, owns Pet Pro North, a very popular and busy private pet sitting service here in town.
We have family nearby and friends living all around us. We're also very lucky to live close to the long list of things we love to do.
Our favorite activities include everything from golfing, biking, hiking and boating, to playing euchre, paddleboarding and enjoying the beach during the summers. And of course, there's skiing and snowshoeing in the winters.
